I have been busy

This week I met with the buyer for the Gift Shop at the National Gallery of Australia. I showed him my brooches, in particular the Zip brooch which compliments their current exhibition 'Reinventions: sculpture+assemblage'. Well, he loved them and at this very moment the zipper brooches are for sale there. What a lovely souvenir after visiting the exhibition!

Also this week I have a confirmed booking for the next Handmade Market, 'Handmade in Bloom'. The market is being held on Friday 11 Sept 6-9pm and Saturday 12 Sept 10-4pm at Albert Hall. Take a look at the other designers who are taking part on http://www.handmademarket.com.au/ You wont be disappointed. The brooch above will be the new design to be showcased at the 'Handmade in Bloom'!

Life is good!

  1. Hello! Just chanced upon you blog and wanted to say HI...I am also a bit of a brooch obsessed lady and based in Canberra too! I study textiles at the ANU and am part of an exhibition at Megalo at the moment which we're having closing drinks for on Thursday night. I have some of my last years broochy goodness up on display.
Welcome to blog world - I look forward to checking in on your pretty creations! :)

  4. Hello Again :)

Just me being a pain in the bum - wondering whether you've had a chance to make any more of the rick rack brooches. I wish I could take the black one off you, but I'm afraid it would get lost on all my black jackets... :(

Was bummed to have missed out on the designer night at Shop Handmade, would have been lovely to put a face to the wonderful creations!

Hope you're having a lovely week and the weather's not too cold ;)
